Signal Transduction ID1 Promotes Breast Cancer Metastasis by S100A9 Regulation

چکیده
Metastasis is a major factor responsible for mortality in patients with breast cancer. Inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (Id1) has been shown to play an important role in cell differentiation, tumor angiogenesis, cell invasion, and metastasis. Despite the data establishing Id1 as a critical factor for lung metastasis in breast cancer, the pathways and molecular mechanisms of Id1 functions in metastasis remain to be defined. Here, we show that Id1 interacts with TFAP2A to suppress S100A9 expression. We show that expression of Id1 and S100A9 is inversely correlated in both breast cancer cell lines and clinical samples. We also show that the migratory and invasive phenotypes in vitro and metastasis in vivo induced by Id1 expression are rescued by reestablishment of S100A9 expression. S100A9 also suppresses the expression of known metastasis-promoting factor RhoC activated by Id1 expression. Our results suggest that Id1 promotes breast cancer metastasis by the suppression of S100A9

متن کاملCCL18-mediated down-regulation of miR98 and miR27b promotes breast cancer metastasis
Our previous work has indicated that CCL18 secreted by tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) promotes breast cancer metastasis, which is associated with poor patient prognosis. However, it remains unclear whether microRNAs (miRNAs), which may modulate multiple cellular pathways, are involved in the regulation of CCL18 signaling and the ensuing metastasis of breast cancer. In this study, we demons...
متن کاملID1 contributes to cell growth invasion and migration in salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma
Previous studies have reported that inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) exerts an oncogenic role in a number of tumors. In the present study, the role of ID1 in the growth, invasion and migration of salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma (SACC) cells was investigated. ID1 expression in clinical SACC samples was compared with that in normal salivary tissues using immunohistochemical staining, and the co...

The calcium-binding proteins S100A8 and S100A9 can dimerize to form calprotectin, the release of which during tissue damage has been implicated in inflammation and metastasis. However, receptor(s) mediating the physiologic and pathophysiologic effects of this damage-associated "danger signal" are uncertain. In this study, searching for candidate calprotectin receptors by affinity isolation-mass...
